AN ANGEL FOR CENTURY VILLAGE

An Angel for Century Village

Our angel is Wifi, it will make the village more desirable and will be available to help everyone and save money, all for $3 per month. But you must tell your Delegate to vote this Friday to put the WiFi $3 back in our budget for next year.

The Finance Committee has changed its mind, money in, money out, mostly without attending WiFi information meetings, too much personal political nonsense IMHO.
The Executive Board could straighten things out today, but don't count on it.

Its the WiFi symbol

VOTE THE BUDGET DOWN.......DELEGATES

VOTE THE BUDGET DOWN.......DELEGATES
If the Delegates who represent the people can't change the budget to add or take out and vote on it,   Then it is time to VOTE THE BUDGET DOWN  let the officers and committees go back to the drawing board and sharpen their pencils and brains. A side note...I pay 30.00 approx for internet. Some people don't have internet because of this cost. Many children would love to give their parent or parents a tablet or some other form of communications.  But, the parents know they can't afford this amount per month.  But, with wi-fi we can all enjoy talking and seeing  our families for a fraction of this cost per month. We need to think about what $3.00 for wi-fi can really save us in the long run.  THINK HARD AND CLEAR...

A MATTER OF LEGALITIES - COMMON FUNDING OF GOLF COURSE BATTLE INCONSISTENT WITH OUR BI-LATERAL AGREEMENT

-
The following recent opinion from our UCO Attorney clearly states that funding the Reflection Bay case cannot be made a common expense:
-
"Note that Community Services does not include any charges for financing the opposition to development of housing on golf courses.  Therefore, the Delegate Assembly would not have authority to impose such a charge on each Building without an amendment to the Bi-Lateral Agreement approved by each Building."
-
A copy of the Bi-lateral agreement may be found in the sidebar under the heading "Core Documents"..... BILATERAL AGREEMENT

It's not the $1

Budgets for 2014:
My Association budget, contract driven, will probably go up $15/month.
WPRF will probably go up $3+/month
I just got my Notice of annual changes for Health Care, phew, everything up. Copays from $35 to 70, 35 to 50, 280 to 300, 0 to 10, some coverage removed entirely, max oop from 4,900 to 6,700.

Dear PRPC, the village does not object to the $1, they disagree, or wish you would stop ranting, or do not care about your positions. That is why the majority vote against you.

What Would You Give Up Before The Internet?

Survey Results
The Internet is an integral part of everyday life for many of us now, people work, play, date, blog, and socialize online. Which is a pretty stunning revelation for a technology that only hit the mainstream in the 1990s. (This may include you, and certainly your children.)
This means the Internet surely ranks pretty highly on a make-believe list of life’s essentials.
We asked you, What Would You Give Up Before The Internet? We had a great response, ...
Things people would give up before the Internet include their smartphone, free time, car, expensive clothes, TV, guns, sugar, caffeine, radio, alcohol, scotch whisky, and… asparagus.
One thing to take away from this discussion is the number of things that a device such as a PC, tablet, or smartphone with a good Internet connection can replace. It would actually be quite easy to give up TV, radio, games, newspapers, books, etc. when alternatives to these are all available online.

DELEGATES DON'T LET A FEW CRASH WI-FI FOR THE VILLAGE - RESTORE $3.00/Month/Unit for Wi-Fi

-

This graphic depicts a 24 hour cycle of Global INTERNET activity.
-
Wi-Fi will provide our Village with Campus wide INTERNET connectivity for an incredibly low cost.
-
Play the graphic and see how dynamic it is; the power of this communications model is incredible, Delegates, enable CV to roll continuously forward into the 21st century; Wi-Fi is an amenity this Village should have - now only the Delegates can snatch victory from the jaws of the de-funding, defeat!
-
Your Wi-Fi committee is ready to roll, restore the funding, and make it happen.

Stirring military marches echoed around Hasting this morning. Water exercise included marching and saluting, maybe to the new flag.

State Government At Work

The State does health checks on water quality at all our pools twice a year, also the pumps, equipment and chemical storage, showers, and sauna.
They check the beach waters every Monday.

Simmer Down it will be several months ...

before the en banc judges get to a ruling.
I looked at the Court docket, I see Reflection Bay has until October 14 to respond to the Court panel’s questions. It would be logical that the “perpetuity clause” is one of these (IMHO). Then researchers will prepare information for the judges. It was the county attorney who indicated that it could be “several months” before the judicial panel issues any kind of ruling.
So what is my point - that PRPC will not help their cause or the village by protracted arguing at the next Delegate Assembly. Their claims that they can somehow 'insure' their desired results at this time is wishful thinking. It is time to wait.

So, what is going on with PRPC. If you look at their blog its the same old "Give money - Save the Village" sorry that is not a plan and only adds to the disillusionment that is fogging the village.

Florida Golf

An interesting piece on golf from across the whole state - ownership of golf courses are costly to relationships within the community: neighbor turning against neighbor. (CV is proving never owning a golf course can have the same effect.)  Final word "You love to play golf? Great! Buy a home very close to a golf course, but not in a community that owns a golf course."  http://www.hoa-condoblog.com/JBBlog9613.html

THE WAR ON WIFI

Do not take WiFi for the village as a certainty. There are people here who would rather pay $25-40 and more per month for themselves, rather than vote for $3/month to let everyone have WiFi.
Bob you hit the nail on the head.
If you are a Delegate be prepared for the WiFi discussion at the next Delegate Assembly, talk to your neighbors so you can represent their wishes. Please.
