Governor Scott signed H 643 into law

Gov. Rick Scott this week signed a law aimed at protecting the rights of condo owners when developers are trying to convert complexes into rental properties. The legislation is designed to restrict buyouts that enable companies that own the bulk of the units in a condo complex to force remaining owners to sell to them. The new law calls for bulk-ownership investors to compensate individual owners for the amount paid in most instances.
Read details, it seems home must also be homesteaded to qualify.

Plant-based Foods

Birds Eye is getting on the plant-based bandwagon. You can find these steamable 2-portion bags in the side dish section (Walmart). Each contains 5 veg, kind of salty, don't they know we can salt our own food. If you make your own mixtures and find that makes too much quantity, these packets may be an alternative.

House Bill 643

CYBER CITIZENS FOR JUSTICE, INC.
June 20, 2015
"One of the scrupulous "investors" has targeted a condo association in the Palm Beach Century Village. Let's hope these "efforts" to kick people out of their homes for "peanuts" will finally stop -- if Governor Scott will hopefully sign House Bill 643 into law, the bill that will finally repeal most of the so-called "eminent domain bill" for condos. It's about time that this disgusting practice will finally stop -- a practice that was created by a bill sponsored by Senator Geller and Representative Schwartz. I always wondered how an "honest" legislator would be willing to sponsor such a horrible bill. I guess we have too many "dishonest" legislators in Tallahassee who fail to represent the interests of their constituents. Shame on them!!!!! "

BRAVE

d day graphic

On this day 71 years ago, D-Day happened.
D-Day: the massive military operation known at the time as Operation Neptune that saw the United States and the Allies invade Normandy, France, was the largest seaborne invasion in world history. It ignited the liberation of France from the Nazis as well as the Allies victory in Europe in general.
The amphibious landings are legendary — just like the incredibly brave men who manned the operation — but it was so much more than the famous landing crafts. This graphic (courtesy of the BBC) does a great job of helping us visualize the enormity of the invasion. There was really nothing else like it … ever.
Or since.
Let’s never forget the more than 14,000 courageous military service members who gave their life on this day. They saved us from tyranny, they preserved our freedom and we should be forever grateful.

Boca Buses

Apparently the anti bus-cuts demonstrations shown on West Palm news last night were actually Boca Century Village - not us.  Nice signs, very organized.
