I would like to thank Eva Rachesky, UCO and all the volunteers who helped with the Covid Virus Inoculation in the club house. From my observation it all went very smoothly even when we were told to come back the next day for some reason. There were no big line ups. Again, thank you all.

BIG big thank you

This event was a supreme team effort, and we thank all who were involved: UCO Officers and Volunteers, CERT team members, Platinum Security, S.E. Florida Transportation, PBSO, W.P.R.F., Florida and PBC Departments of Health and Emergency Management, and the Florida National Guard. We also particularly thank our Palm Beach County Commissioner Gregg Weiss and his staff, who were instrumental in getting this vaccine allocation into Century Village. Also, we especially thank Congregation Anshei Sholom, for allowing the registration event to happen on their property. This is the second time during this Pandemic that the Synagogue extended itself to help our Community. And, finally, thank you CV Residents, for your patience and your cooperative spirit- events like this are EXACTLY why we all live here!

especially - Don’t eat during the meeting.

It can be a little gross to watch other people eat sometimes. Or listen to them chewing, for that matter. Hold off if you can, or if not, maybe turn off the video and audio.

Mask Testing

You can test several types of masks by trying to blow out a candle. My masks did not even make candle flicker.  Even the thin pleats.

Wearing a mask protects other people and also protects you by reducing the load of virus that can reach you. Science has shown that a small amount of virus may give asymptomatic covid 19 or a light case.  A mask is always better than nothing.

Thailand no deaths

Thailand has one of the most successful campaigns against coronavirus, zero deaths.
This is how:
They spend most of their time outdoors, sun makes sure they have enough Vit D.
They turn off a/c and open all windows.
Masks are universally worn.
Travel is mostly by moped, not public transport or cars.
At shopping stores and mall, your temperature is taken before you go in.
Doormen splash your hands with alcohol cleaner.
Shopping baskets are cleaned after every use.
There is testing of hotspots and tracing and quarantine, also names of positives are published so chain of infection can be watched.

People are sensible.

Do you feel like a floridamoron!

Caring for Covid patients at home

Coach them through this breathing exercise

Casciari and Fincher both say a breathing technique touted by celebrities with COVID-19, including J.K. Rowling and CNN broadcaster Chris Cuomo, could be helpful for your loved one.
In a video demonstrating the technique, British doctor Sarfaraz Munshi tells viewers to take a deep breath, hold it for five seconds and then release it. Patients should repeat this five times, then take a sixth breath in and cough strongly while releasing it. Afterward, they should lie flat on their stomach for 10 minutes, taking slightly deeper breaths than normal.
The exercise pushes air deep into the lungs and opens air pockets that otherwise might be collapsed, helping to prevent mucus buildup, Casciari explains. It also increases the amount of oxygen the patient is getting. “We've used it for years with respiratory illness,” he says.
Lying facedown afterward takes advantage of gravity to redistribute the air and fluid in the lungs, improving oxygenation, Casciari says. Called proning, the technique is being used by hospitals across the country on severely ill patients. Physicians have found it to be helpful.
Casciari was quick to point out that the exercises are no substitute for going to the hospital if your loved one is having trouble breathing or if his symptoms are getting worse.
