Yes, and one could say "I am far more likely to die from ALL other causes than an Islamic terrorist act," making the case all the more overwhelming. It misses one important point, though. It is the small things in terms of numbers of people directly involved that often bring about the collapse of governments, provoke general anarchy and even win wars. We all EXPECT to die. We don't all expect to have take place such outrages as have been committed on our innocent, precious fellow citizens over the past twenty years. Is it only our self-interest and "the odds that favor ME" that matter to us? I hope not. I hope we are better than that.
