CYBER CITIZENS FOR JUSTICE, INC.

"One of the scrupulous "investors" has targeted a condo association in
the Palm Beach Century Village. Let's hope these "efforts" to kick
people out of their homes for "peanuts" will finally stop -- if Governor
Scott will hopefully sign House Bill 643 into law, the bill that will
finally repeal most of the so-called "eminent domain bill" for condos.
It's about time that this disgusting practice will finally stop -- a
practice that was created by a bill sponsored by Senator Geller and Representative Schwartz.
I always wondered how an "honest" legislator would be willing to
sponsor such a horrible bill. I guess we have too many "dishonest"
legislators in Tallahassee who fail to represent the interests of their
constituents. Shame on them!!!!! "
From what I read in Saturday's PB Post, the intent of the law was to facilitate recovery of some of our hurricane-damaged condos by enabling investors to buy them and fix them up. Apparently it didn't work out that way. Coupled with the unexpected housing collapse and economic meltdown, unscrupulous investors found a way to make a killing on the backs of poor condo owners. Shame on them is right, but I'm not sure the lawmakers had wrong intentions.
