Given current conditions, the City of West Palm Beach Emergency Operations Center is anticipating an activation in the next few days.
In anticipation of the storm, please be aware of the follow information:

The City of West Palm Beach has SEVERAL ways you can receive storm information:
Twitter:
All storm info will be sent out on the city's PRIMARY twitter account:

*During a storm, all other city twitter accounts will be suspended.

Sign up to receive the same updates sent to news media.
Facebook:
All storm info will be sent out on the city's PRIMARY Facebook account:

Phone Notifications:
You can sign up for the city's CODE RED phone alert system.
By registering your phone number, you will receive all emergency calls.
PLEASE NOTE: Not all information is distributed by phone.  CODE RED calls are used sporadically as needed. 
HERE IS THE LATEST INFORMATION:
   
Trash:
All crews are focused on clearing all the current debris across the city.
All residents are instructed to NO LONGER PUT OUT ANY yard debris or bulk waste.  All yard debris and bulk waste must now be secured on your property.
Regular trash pick up will continue on its regular schedule until the National Hurricane Center issues a watch for the area.
Commercial pick up will continue on a regular schedule until the National Hurricane Center issues a watch for the area.
The city is no longer accepting requests for special pick ups.  No new special pick ups will be scheduled.
     
Storm Drains:
In anticipation of heavy rains, make sure the storm drains on your streets are clear of any debris.  This is important everywhere, but especially in neighborhoods with a history of flooding.
    
Parking:
There is NO PUBLIC PARKING allowed in city garages during the storm UNLESS YOU ALREADY HAVE A PASS TO PARK THERE AS A RESIDENT.  City parking garages ARE NOT TO BE USED to shelter your car.
    
Community Centers:
The city's community centers will follow the lead of the Palm Beach County Schools.  If schools are closed, so are the city community centers.
   
Library:
The Mandel Public Library hours will following the lead of the rest of the city.  If city offices are closed, so is the library. Please note: There is a good chance the library will be closed on Sunday to prepare for the storm.
    
9-1-1:
9-1-1 should only be used in the case of an emergency.  If you have a non-emergency, please call 822-2222.
    
Shelters:
The city does NOT run shelters.  Shelters are run by Palm Beach County.  But if you will need space in a special needs shelter or a pet-friendly shelter, YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER for them with Palm Beach County.
