BEWARE CENTURY VILLAGE DRIVING IN THE VILLAGE. I just came back from traffic school. I got a ticket from a corrupt policeman for going through a stop sign at the four corners coming in from Haverhill. I stopped and to look to make sure there were no cars coming from the left I had to put both hands on either side of my body to lift up and turn as I could not turn my neck . It was stiff. As I came around towards the laundry a police car pulled up behind me flashing his lights and gave me a ticket for going through a stop sign. These policemen that are called into the village by UCO think old people are a cash grab. I was also given 4 points. I WAS FULLY STOPPED. I paid $264.00 for the ticket and $40.00 for traffic school. The school said they would make sure that the points are taken off my name. It is too bad we need the police in the village and they just give out tickets where there were no infractions. I told the policeman that he was a corrupt cop. I certainly could have used the $300.00 total for something that I really needed.

  1. While accusing the officer of corruption was not appropriate, perhaps the assocation should consider putting up traffic cameras at these intersections to document the truth. Traffic cameras have been banned for the purpose of generating cash by municipalities however having cameras in certain areas for specific and legitimate reasons would not be a bad idea.
