Clothesline and Solar Energy Saving

Florida was the first state to pass a right-to-dry law. The statute makes invalid any ordinance, covenant or deed restriction “which prohibits or has the effect of prohibiting the installation of solar collectors, clotheslines, or other energy devices based on renewable resources ...”

The 2015 Florida Statutes

163.04 Energy devices based on renewable resources.—
(1) Notwithstanding any provision of this chapter or other provision of general or special law, the adoption of an ordinance by a governing body, as those terms are defined in this chapter, which prohibits or has the effect of prohibiting the installation of solar collectors, clotheslines, or other energy devices based on renewable resources is expressly prohibited.

Find Out If Your Doctor Takes Drug Company Money

"There is a reason pharmaceutical companies spend billions of dollars on the influencing, education, and entertainment of doctors around the world.

Thanks to Republican Senator Chuck Grassley, the Sunshine Act was inserted into Obamacare. And, so, for the first time, patients will now be able to see what, if any, financial ties their own doctor has. The database is live right now. Go to openpaymentsdata.cms.gov/search or for a more user-friendly version, Propublica’s Dollars for Docs page. The drug industry spends billions trying to influence doctors, and, for the first time, you can see if your physician, or any physician, has their hand out." How Many Veteran Charities Are Too Many?

Donors who want to make contributions towards charitable programs that serve the military and veterans face an almost overwhelming volume of choices with, by some accounts, the existence of over 40,000 nonprofit organizations dedicated to serving the military and veterans and an estimated 400,000 service organizations that in some way touch veterans or service members.

Feeling Political

The United States Presidential Election of 2016 is underway, and you might not be sure which candidates you should support yet.  By using the bipartisan iSideWith political quiz, you can quickly find out how your political views match up against all candidates currently in the running.  There are about 25 issues but many more sensible suggestions under 'other stances'.  Food for thought.

Real Life

Well I grew up in a real town
Where the prom queen had a plastic crown
And we really did just drive around
'Cause there wasn't sh*t to do
We didn't know we were real broke
Daddy rolled them real smokes
We drank RC, no real Coke
But our neighbor had a pool
We got green grass and two trees
Whoa oh oh oh oh
But it ain't like what's on TV
Whoa oh oh oh oh
This is real life in the real world
We ain't talking to no models
We got real girls
We get real low, we get real high
It ain't all good baby but it's all right
Real life
We got a dive bar
With a real band, they play too loud
And they're real bad
But we're real boys so we still dance
And we stay out way too late
Hit the Waffle House for some real food
But that waitress, she's real rude
She got real problems but we do too so we tip her anyway
That's just the way that it is
Whoa oh oh oh oh
That's just the way that we live
Whoa oh oh oh oh
This is real life in the real world
We ain't talking to no models
We got real girls
We get real low, we get real high
It ain't all good baby but it's all right
Real life
Yeah we're livin' real life

Almost Entirely Shady Web Neighborhoods

Due to the explosion of top level domains (TLDs) in recent years, we have seen a staggering number of almost entirely shady Web neighborhoods crop up at an alarming rate,” said Dr. Hugh Thompson, CTO for Blue Coat Systems. “The increase in Shady TLDs is in turn providing increased opportunity for the bad guys to partake in malicious activity.

Delegate Assy Comment

Best comment at the Delegate Assy, Herb F -
"Be sensible, quit fighting over things that are good for you"

Silliest comments, mostly by malcontents. One of their refrains is that residents are not getting UCO information. Perhaps they forgot:
You can get questions answered at UCO
See list of open meetings every month
Delegate Assembly info packages
The enlarged UCO Reporter
Channel 63
The Blog 'Our Village in West Palm Beach'
Many taped meetings on the Blog and Channel 63
The sidebar of the Blog overflowing with information.
Meeting minutes and notices on the Information Forward Initiative (IFI - give Prez D. Israel your email if you are not receiving it)
Clubhouse flyers
All guided by Sunshine Laws

I feel the need for acronyms to shorten meetings

There was a lot of good useful info at the Delegate Assy yesterday, also much rambling by those trying to make UCO look bad (TTMULB). Malcontents make blanket statements full of emotional words (murder, baloney, not true, we prove...). These statements are themselves not true and need to get a short reply e.g. It is too full of nonsense (TFON). Read the Bylaws (RTB), References wrong, Logic wrong (RWLW).
Fausto handled one by saying 'I am not going to try to answer that' may I suggest TFON.
The TTMULB about the Officers Cmte emergency meeting was TFON, RTB. See Officers 'D.2 The President may call an emergency meeting at any time' - period. Other special mtgs of the Executive Board and Delegate Assembly do have some notice requirements. Officer emergency meetings do not. Even so anyone who was awake knew the search for a Recording Officer was on.

No doubt this post will trigger comments by malcontent blogs, but I NEVER read their toxic material.

ReThink cyberbullying

Sounds perfect for malcontents and Messengers.
Most people in most situations could probably benefit from one tiny prompt: “Are you sure you want to do that?” Fifteen-year-old techie Trisha Prabhu says that question could be the difference between life and death.
Prabhu is the inventor of ReThink, a software program that recognizes when users enter phrases often used to cyberbully into a computer—and displays a pop-up window asking the writer to reconsider. The Chicago high school student’s own studies find that a simple prompt (“Are you sure you want to send that message?”) is enough to discourage its teen users from sending nasty missives a whopping 93 percent of the time.

Robert Kraft comments:
Kraft continued: “Tom Brady is a person of great integrity, and is a great ambassador of the game both on and off the field. Yet for reasons that I cannot comprehend, there are those in the league office who are more determined to prove that they were right rather than admit any culpability of their own or take any responsibility for the initiation of a process and ensuing investigation that was flawed.”

Governor Scott signed H 643 into law

Gov. Rick Scott this week signed a law aimed at protecting the rights of condo owners when developers are trying to convert complexes into rental properties. The legislation is designed to restrict buyouts that enable companies that own the bulk of the units in a condo complex to force remaining owners to sell to them. The new law calls for bulk-ownership investors to compensate individual owners for the amount paid in most instances.
Read details, it seems home must also be homesteaded to qualify.

Birds Eye is getting on the plant-based bandwagon. You can find these steamable 2-portion bags in the side dish section (Walmart). Each contains 5 veg, kind of salty, don't they know we can salt our own food. If you make your own mixtures and find that makes too much quantity, these packets may be an alternative.

House Bill 643

CYBER CITIZENS FOR JUSTICE, INC.
June 20, 2015
"One of the scrupulous "investors" has targeted a condo association in the Palm Beach Century Village. Let's hope these "efforts" to kick people out of their homes for "peanuts" will finally stop -- if Governor Scott will hopefully sign House Bill 643 into law, the bill that will finally repeal most of the so-called "eminent domain bill" for condos. It's about time that this disgusting practice will finally stop -- a practice that was created by a bill sponsored by Senator Geller and Representative Schwartz. I always wondered how an "honest" legislator would be willing to sponsor such a horrible bill. I guess we have too many "dishonest" legislators in Tallahassee who fail to represent the interests of their constituents. Shame on them!!!!! "
