Other Countries

If Germany can provide health care and college education to everyone, why can't the United States?

Take a look at what Finland, the happiest country in the world, is doing. If Finland can provide everyone with health care, send everyone to college for free and provide affordable child care, why can't the US?

At a time of mounting uncertainty in Europe, Portugal has defied critics who insisted on austerity as the answer to the Continent’s economic and financial crisis. Portugal's government raised public sector salaries, the minimum wage and pensions and even restored the amount of vacation days to pre-bailout levels over objections from creditors.

  1. "If Germany can provide health care and college education to everyone, why can't the United States?" Germany is seriously regretting its taking in the thousands of refugees from Syria.

"Take a look at what Finland, the happiest country in the world, is doing. If Finland can provide everyone with health care, send everyone to college for free and provide affordable child care, why can't the US?" Happy for a short while. Like Germany, Finland has been overrun by refugees according to an hour-long interview I saw the other day on TV. The once "happy" country has become alarmingly crime-ridden in places.

The Netherlands has become the world’s 2nd biggest food exporter Good for the Dutch.

"African Factory Turns Trash into Energy, Clean Water and Bricks." Good for this African factory as long as it is not doing this at too great an expense.

"At a time of mounting uncertainty in Europe, Portugal has defied critics who insisted on austerity the critics are right as the answer to the Continent’s economic and financial crisis. Portugal's government raised public sector salaries, the minimum wage and pensions and even restored the amount of vacation days to pre-bailout levels over objections from creditors." If these have been Portugal's responses, they are all the wrong responses. How foolish can some of these countries be?

"for more search: World economic Forum, Initiatives ... Climate reality ... and Facebook Bernie Sanders." Ah yes, of course—Bernie.

    1. What supposedly intelligent people see in Bernie,I don't know. This is not 1915, when socialism had been unproven. The world has now seen failure after failure of full-fledged socialism, from the Soviet Union and its empire, to many Latin American countries, to now the disaster of oil-rich Venezuela.
