How does this break his promise? Trump says Carrier will be taxed if their whole outfit leaves the country. The agreement is that Carrier will NOT transfer all their operations to Mexico, but only a part. A major part will apparently remain in the U.S., and for this they will get a tax BREAK. The Carrier employees certainly seemed happy about this on TV. They were moaning when Carrier earlier announced the closing of their US operations. Trump plans to give ALL businesses a tax break. Isn't this "The Art of the Deal" simply put into practice with Trump using the clout he will soon have as president? It strikes me we're getting an early lesson on how Trump can successfully negotiate. He uses the bully pulpit but ISN'T a wild man or dictator. He knows there must be some give and take.
ReplyDeleteSpin, spin! Lanny Pence and Elaine Palin. Tea party standard-bearer Sarah Palin, just blasted the tax deal the president-elect negotiated with Carrier, condemning it as “crony capitalism.”

Yi, yi, yi! Well, I just figured out what's spinning. It's my head.
